Original minutes of the
first Village Board meetings.

July 17th, 1889

First council meet pursuant to call, a
full board being present at P. N. Deerson's.
Office, P. N. Deerson, John Grabow, P. J. Lang-
don, J. R. Wilson and William Lewon. Meeting
was held at P. N. Deerson's lumber office,
and proceeded to elect officers for th
ensuing years.

A motion was made and carried that P. N.
Deerson act as chairman.

A motion was made and carried that John
Bradford be appointed clerk.

A motion was made and carried that B. F.
Smith be appointed Treasurer.

A motion was made and carried that H.
J. Grove be appointed attorney.

A motion was made and carried that Scott
Duskoff be appointed Village marshall.

A motion was made and carried to vote
a fur[?] mill tax for Village purpose.

J. R. Wilson handed in his resignation
as councilman which was accepted.

A motion was then made that C[?]. L. McKenna
be appointed to fill the vacancy, carried.

A motion was moved to adjourn and carried.


July 28, 1889

An adjourned meeting of the board of trustees
met, full board present.

The bonds of the councilman, clerk, treasurer,
and marshall was accepted.

The bonds of Wm Lewon was $(200) two hundred
dollars, the bonds of P. N. Deerson was ($200)
two hundred dollars, the bonds of P. J. Lang-
don was $(200) two hundred dollars, the bond
of John Grabow was $(200) two hundred dollars
the bond of Harvey J. [illegible] was $(200) dollars,
the bond of C. L. McKenna was $(200) two hun-
dred dollars, the bond of John Bradford $(600)
six hundred dollars, the bond of B. F[?]. Smith
was $(1200) twelve hundred dollars, the bond
of Scott Driskoll was $(100) one hundred
dollars.


July 24th, 1889.
An adjourned meeting of the board of trustees
met, with full board.

The rules and regulations was read and adopted
as prepared by H. J. Grove and ordinances
pertaining to liquor licenses and regulating
the same, as ordinance No. 1 was adopted.
Ordinance No. (2) and (3) was adopted.
